The Dope Poet Society kicks off 2006 with an invitation to be the first Canadian urban act ever to showcase at Midem. The group will be joined by Maestro, the godfather of Canadian Hip Hop. Midem is the world's largest music conference; it occurs annually in Cannes, France. The conference takes place January 21-26, more information is available at www.Midem.com

In 2005 The Dope Poet Society became one of the top selling hip hop groups in Canada , and the only one to have toured North, Central and South America as well as West Africa . Professor D's exceptional lyrical skill and freestyle ability captivates crowds, while DJ Spinister's fresh and innovative production forms the basis of their musical success. Professor D's unique look and commanding presence make him as formidable in his recent foray into acting as on stage.
One of Canada's greatest black celebrities, Maestro is the top selling urban artist in Canadian history. This platinum artist, winner of two Canadian Grammys, is also an accomplished actor recently nominated for a Canadian Emmy. He co-stars in the TV series Instant-Star , currently seen in 170 countries. He recently played the real life character of Tony Bogard in Redemption starring academy award winner Jamie Fox.
