ROLL OUT!" Song Story: The Dope Poet Society is known worldwide for socially conscious Hip Hop complete
with banging beats and sophisticated lyrical skills. A lesser known fact about
Canada’s most politically active Hiphoppas is that they have (what is
probably) the largest collection of G1 Transformers held by a Hip Hop group.
Professor D and DJ Spinster both collected the toys
in their youth, and often talked about doing a Transformers themed song. Though
DJ Spinister is no longer in the group, his final collaboration with Professor
D is a fitting tribute to their years together. Spin brings his best production
to the table, creating an energizing, head nodding beat which incorporates sounds
and effects from the original cartoon series. Not to be outdone, Professor D
brings it on the lyrical front. With a mind-blowingly advanced lyrical cadence,
Professor D recounts (with uncanny accuracy from childhood memories) the story
of the epic battle between the Autobots and Deceptions from the perspective
of Optimus Prime! If you’re a Transformers fan, you’re gonna go
nuts when you hear this jam! The cover image of Optimus Prime is original freehand
artwork by Professor D (note the Justus League logos on Prime’s arms).

Listen to me human I'll let you in on an on an epic clash/
In the ancient past my name was changed from Orion Pax/
My story starts in a world devoid of war where people were employed and/
All were workers who enjoyed the fruits of our labour in common stocks/
We respected the freedoms of all sentient beings And evolved methods of chan-/
-ging from bipedal to vehicle that's why we are called Autobots/
But alas there arose a class of robots programmed to protect us however they/
showed us no respect cuz they were set up to oppress us pawns/
In the game with a simple aim of evil power devour/
Even they're reason deceived by greed that's why they're the deceptions!/
Lead and headed by the dreaded menace Megatron/
Plundering our planet Cybertron and squandering all the energon/
And upon the factory that I was working in they descended upon/
Showing no mercy they just begun firing at everyone/
The last thing I saw was Megatron discharge his fusion canon/
And I hit the ground never to be the same again/
Left for dead and we would a been were it not for the help that I got/
My wreckage was salvaged by the wise one Alpha Trion/
Who rebuilt me wiser, more and powerful and bigger/
And gave a new life to me through the force of Vector Sigma!/
My homey became Iron Hide and I from this time/
Became known as the ultimate Autobot Optimus Prime/
Entrusted with the sacred matrix of leadership mysterious power/
And told that it would light our darkest hour/
From that platform I began the course to/
transform my peaceful people to a lethal fighting force/
Reluctant warriors knowing that war is not glorious Still we forward with/
The hope that victorious we could restore life to our planet destroyed by this/
Need for greed so I blast Deceptions in a line/
When I meet Megatron on the battlefield for the first time as Prime/
I hoped that it would be the last but alas there's been much more of this warfare/
Megatron said who are you? I said I'm your worst nightmare!
